The core idea for this is a desire to get actively involved with other art and education initiatives whose aim is to develop opportunities for women artists and muscicians, while at the same time reflecting and examining on the evidence left from small women collectives in the area (i.e.The Hackney Flashers collective, The Lesbian Housing Association), that helped set the foundation of their communities. The posture of the show is thus an invitation to anyone willing to work on the premises of collaboration by assessing the work itself and the impact of previous groups that attempted the dissemination of skills through direct involvement. Marina Vishmidt articulates film slowly and distinctly through a radio interface. The ear is quicker than the eye. In-situ viewing for maniacs as Valie Export’s ‘Syntagma’, and Judith Barry’s ‘Casual Shopper’, toy with the allegorical mode at the borders of the skull and the sign. A purely sonic-visual acted radio play.
